I'd like to do this in the channel rack (as opposed to using a drum trigger like Slate Trigger or Drumagog). Rather than just sampling, processing, and layering/mixing these loops, I'd like to just save the groove/rhythm template as a MIDI score and put it on the sounds of my choice. My end goal is to be able to take bits and pieces of different drum loops, such as the kick pattern from one, maybe a tom pattern from another, and like a hat pattern from a third. I also used Melodyne, and it captured the rhythm, but it was flat - so even after exporting the MIDI score there was no way to distinguish what notes are the hats or the kick, etc. Drumagog has an option to send MIDI to a channel (As seen in this video) but I don't know if FL Studio supports that feature (I haven't been able to work it out) This isn't ideal either though because I'm running three instances of Drumagog at that point, and it's not frugal in regards to processing power. I would do the same thing on the hats and on the snare/clap. This would allow me to take the kick rhythm and resample the sound. Lowpass on one to isolate the kick, and then run an instance of Drumagog on that mixer track. I have Drumagog, but it doesn't work too well with stereo drum samples. Its development process is still ongoing, though, it’s already one of the more useable software. And it can be challenging with complex hat rhythms. Imitone is a paid Audio to MIDI plugin that works with your voice as a controller. a kick of my choice) But this method isn't too useful for flams and nuances. So for example, if it was a kick, I'd like to get an isolated MIDI score so I could drag that score to another instrument on the channel rack. I want to keep the inherent groove/rhythm. Lol, I had quite a bit of trouble articulating my thoughts on this post.Īnd no, not exactly.
